Physics is one of the most fundamental sciences due to its role in the industrial revolution and the civilizational progress witnessed by the world today, as well as its significant contribution to the advancement of other sciences and their applications. From this perspective, the Physics Department at the College of Science and Arts at Najran University has been one of the departments to which the university has attached great importance since its establishment up to the present. This is evident through the department's support with distinguished academic staff, tools, and necessary equipment to facilitate the educational process.
The department offers a Bachelor of Science program in Physics and a Master's program in Materials Science and Nanotechnology, in addition to teaching several fundamental physics courses for other colleges within the university. On the other hand, the Physics Department places great emphasis on scientific research, as reflected in the significant contributions of its members in publishing rigorous scientific research in prestigious international journals, participating in local, regional, and international scientific conferences, and organizing several general scientific courses for teachers, students, and those interested in the field of physics. This makes the Physics Department one of the most active scientific departments in the university.
We pray to Allah Almighty to grant us further excellence in all the department's responsibilities—educational, research-based, and community-serving—to achieve the aspirations of our young university for distinction and innovation, which our beloved country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, deserves, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
